**** Important Information Regarding This Position****
This position is offered Part Time (20 hours per week) on a shift/rota basis.
During the initial training period (2 to 3 months), shifts will be 4pm to 8pm Monday to Friday with Saturday shifts on a rotation basis.
Upon completion of the initial training period, some morning and afternoon shifts may be included in shift allocation (if desired and subject to the requirements of the service)
About the Service:
In May 2016, the Welsh Blood Service took full responsibility for the collection, testing, processing and distribution of donated blood stocks within the Welsh borders. Blood donated in Wales now directly supports Welsh hospitals and patients.
To support this important expansion, the Welsh Blood Service, part of the Velindre NHS Trust, created a modern Donor Contact Centre at its Talbot Green Head Quarters.
About the Role:
As a DCCA (Donor Contact Centre Advisor), you will be the key point of contact for our most important resource, our donors. The role will involve communicating with our donors with regards to attendance at clinics, eligibility to donate and resolving general queries and concerns.
Your productivity, passion and personality will have a direct influence the level of the Welsh blood stocks and our ability to save lives.
We offer our Donors a variety of ways of contacting us so it is important that you can communicate accurately both verbally and in writing. Much of our contact is currently via phone and email, but it is likely that the DCC will expand its communication methods to include SMS, Webchat and Social Media so the ability to multitask and adapt to different communication methods is essential. In addition to handling donor contacts, there will be an element of administrative duties.
DCC Advisors roles are available on Part Time basis, with shifts varying between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am to 1am. Shifts are allocated based on service requirements and, while notice of shift patterns will be given, it should be noted that there will be a strong emphasis on evening shifts. For this reason, applications are only required from applicants with the flexibility to cover any evening shift and the desire to work a at least high proportion of these evening shifts.
